Also, and perhaps more importantly, the most famous wheelchair of WWII belonged to American president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who was stricken with polio at a young age. Tickertape, a kind of thin paper strip used in displaying stock prices that were transmitted over telegraph, was a popular ingredient in confetti, because of its size and ease with which it could be shredded.
