Heaven is Whenever is the fifth studio album by The Hold Steady, released May 4th on Vagrant Records and May 3rd on Rough Trade in the UK and EU.

Recording InformationEdit

Heaven is Whenever was recorded over a period of six months, with many of the songs on or in consideration for the album making appearances in the band's live shows. The album was produced by Almost Killed Me engineer and Separation Sunday producer Dean Baltulonis.

According to guitarist Tad Kubler, the album focuses more on guitar than on keys, understandable since keyboardist Franz Nicolay departed the band shortly before the album was announced.
